A few weeks ago I received a lovely package in the post containing these beauties! Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few weeks I’m sure you will have already heard about Makeup Revolution, and very possibly already own a few bits yourself! They are the newest budget beauty brand to hit the shops and they are fast becoming a beauty bloggers favourite! With prices starting at just £1 they are so affordable, and show that you don’t need to fork out for quality makeup!
I was sent the Vivid Baked Blush in Loved Me The Best*, the Vivid Baked Highlighter in Pink Lights*, the Awesome Eyeshadow and Eyebrow Palette in Disappear Until Tomorrow* and two Amazing Lipsticks in Beloved* and Twist*.
My favourite of the products I received is definitely the blush and the highlighter. I have been using them nearly every day with my Real Techniques contour brush and they go together really nicely. I also love the look of the products. As you can see below, the blush has a swirly pattern and the highlighter reminds me of a shell. It just makes using them feel even nicer as they look so pretty! The Vivid Baked Blushes are £2.50 (link) and the Vivid Baked Highlighters are £3 (link).
The Awesome Eyeshadow and Eyebrow palettes are £4 (link) and I think the quality of the formula is really good for that price! If you use the brush that comes with the palette you do get quite a bit of fall out but when I used it with the brush I got with my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette (post here) I didn’t get any fall out at all. The colours are really versatile, it’s a really good palette for creating a neutral look, or a good smoky eye if you use the darker shades. The top shades in the palette are silver, gold and bronze shades, with one being shimmery and one being more of a matte shade. They are the ones I’ve used the most so far. I haven’t made use of the eyebrow powders as of yet though!
The two Amazing Lipsticks I received are such good shades for me. Beloved is quite a baby pink shade, and is perfect for when I want something a bit understated, although I do need to give it a few layers to get a good colour pay off. As for Twist, this is definitely for when I am feeling a bit more brave! If I apply it straight from the tube it’s very bright and I feel my skin tone needs to be a bit more tanned to pull it off. However I’ve been applying it with a lip brush and it looks a lot less in your face, which I prefer! It is a gorgeous shade for summer though. The Amazing Lipsticks are a bargainous £1! (link)
The shade on the left is Beloved and the right is Twist.
And there you have it! After trying these products I have to say I am really impressed with Makeup Revolution, and I will be picking up quite a few more things when I get paid next week! The lipsticks especially are great for £1, especially if you just want to try a few new shades and aren’t sure what will suit you! You can buy online here or at Superdrug stores/online.
Have you tried any Makeup Revolution products yet? Which are your favourites?
Hi everyone! I apologise for the lack of posts recently but I had two essays due in for the taught component of my masters so I’ve been a bit busy getting those done! Hopefully you’ve seen me around on Twitter though – unfortunately I wasn’t able to resist the lures of scrolling through my Twitter feed!
So the taught component of my masters is over, and now I have until October (or January if I take the free extension) to do my dissertation. I will let you know how I get on with that with updates from time to time. Would anyone who’s considering doing a masters after their undergraduate degree like to see a post about the differences?
I have a couple of events and products that I want to blog about this week, so there will be lots of lovely new posts to sink your teeth in to. I’ve also got a giveaway coming up so if you’re going on holiday this year you might want to keep an eye out for that!
I’ve got a really good couple of months ahead of me, lots of events planned and things! Tomorrow I’m hosting a Macmillan Night In with my mum, which a few companies have kindly donated gifts for so I will be doing a post on that and letting you know how much we raise! The aim is £100 but hopefully we will get more!
I’m headed to an event by Oriflame on Saturday in Leeds, I haven’t travelled to Leeds by train before so I’m slightly nervous but I’m sure I will be fine! I will be there again at the end of May too for the Leeds May Meet, as well as an event called House of Fashion. I’ve also got a Pandora eventand a Laundry Boutique event in my calender, I love having a packed diary!
Finally, my dad and my stepmum have finally adopted two lovely girls who I am enjoying getting to know, one of them has her birthday on Tuesday so I’m excited to spend it with them. I am thinking of doing a post on adoption from a siblings point of view!
Sorry for the long winded post with no pictures but I wanted to let you know what I had going on recently and coming up, I’ve missed blogging! What has been going on in your life?
If you’re a student, you’re probably in the middle of finishing up a dissertation, writing up essays or revising for exams right now. I’ve got two assignments due in the next two weeks which I am furiously typing up, in between blogging breaks and scrolling through Twitter!
Today I’ve got something that is a first for me on my blog, an interview! I got the opportunity to interview Maggi, one half of the brains behind Mrs Accessories. Mrs Accessories is a website offering gorgeous accessories and swimwear at affordable prices! Read on for the interview, plus a discount code for the site! Continue reading
Hi everyone! I wanted to do a quick post on a product launching in May which I am super excited about – flopZ. I am the kind of person who finds it difficult to wear flip flops, as I just find them uncomfortable. But now, all my flip flop-related prayers have been answered by Aga Chervet and Alan Whittaker, the brains behind flopZ. Continue reading
I thought I’d kick this week off with a tag post, why not eh? I’ve had this one saved for a while, and as I’m currently half way through a lovely 4 days off spent with my boyfriend, it’s perfect timing.
Firstly, a little about him. My lovely boyfriend of nearly 5 and a half years now is called Christopher O’Neill, he has a degree in media production which he isn’t using any time soon and he wants to be a teacher. I am trying to persuade him to start his own blog at the minute and was thinking of starting off with him doing a fortnightly post on here. Let me know what your thoughts are on this!
I thought I would do a post today on a few things I have been loving lately which have one thing in common… The word pop!
